Environment protection

Natural zeolite specific properties allow its use in various filtration processes. It acts as an excellent filtration and sorption material – it adsorbs dioxins, heavy metals, etc.

Natural zeolite is an adsorbent of smell and harmful substances in natural water bodies intended for swimming, where it provides for purity and quality of water which contacts skin. It serves for purification and preparation of drinking water. Also, natural zeolite is employed in waste water purification in which case it  maintains an increased biological activity of the water treatment process.

Apart from water purification, zeolite is of great importance for air and gas filtration, creation of filtration barriers in waste dump construction, thus preventing soil contamination. Natural zeolite reduces the adverse effect caused by the process of making asphalt pavement, it improves ecological conditions in livestock buildings, and maintains the biological process that takes place in the course of biogas production.

Benefits of zeolite application

Purification of sewage, industrial, public-supply and rain water

  • Acts as a sorbent of heavy metal cations
  • As an anionic adsorber, sorbs biocides and the absorbed organically-bound halogens
  • Impedes sludge formation expansion
  • Improves CHSK, BSK5 and NH4-N values in water
  • Decreases sludge index, improves sludge biodegradation in presence of high-quality biogas
  • Cuts expenses due to significant saving of chemical agents
  • Decreases concentration of chlorinated hydrocarbons (CKW)
  • Adsorbs odour
  • Stabilizes processes and safety even in the event of considerable variations in the level of contamination
  • Amends рН value
  • Reduces total amount of nitrogen
  • Shows higher efficiency in sludge and pure water separation,  provides for thickening slurries produced in industrial water treatment facility

Air cleaning in filtration of combustion products

  • Sorption of heavy metals
  • Gas dehydration
  • Sorption of dioxins and furans
  • Sorption of acetylene, carbon dioxide, sulphur compounds
  • Air separation
  • Sorption of gas ammonia
  • Sorption of humidity in the event of deviations of the operational temperature in the waste incineration plants
  • Prevention of the filter cloth damage in the event of temperature fall below the dew point temperature of combustion products
  • Suitable for application as an adsorbent in elimination of ammonia atmospheric discharge
  • Mechanical filter used for removal of combustion products and dust particles

Application in biogas production

  • Increases plant efficiency
  • Maintains micro-organisms generation
  • Increases biogas production

Cleansing of livestock barns

  • Increases litter absorbing capacity (water, ammonia, gases)
  • Reduces humidity
  • Decreases ammonia concentration in the building
  • Improves consistency of the bedding (enlarges the share of dry residue)
  • Improves hygienics of the livestock bar, reduces animals morbidity
  • Together with manure creates an ecological fertilizer

Dosage and recommended fractions in cleansing the livestock barns

  • Poultry house litter: saw-dust / zeolite combination in proportion of 75:25
  • Milking herd:  application site - stall, bedding (consolidated surface, it shoud not be a slatted-floor stall): 500 g / week / milk animal
  • Horses: 1 kg/m2 a week
  • Deep litters (swines, broilers, rabbits): 1 kg/m2 a week
  • Litters for other animals (cattle, swines): by scattering on the floor: 1 kg/m2 of the floor surface
  • In broiler battening (i.e. replacement of the litter following the end of the battening cycle of 28 or 40 days) zeolite is usually applied only before putting the litter in place in the paultry room in the dosage of 2 kg/м2. Usually no additional scattering is applied   during the battening period, it is used just near the feeders and waterers to minimize disturbances during the battening time
